g15 packages are package support for the Logitech G15 keyboards, with includes a lot of extra keys, and a LCD screen.
To have full support of Logitech G15 keyboards, you need the g15daemon package. Some program may use only libg15 package, but x.org, Gnome and KDE (standard packages in Debian) take advantages from with the g15daemon. Links to package and sources are in the distribution pages in: Debian g15daemon packages, and Ubuntu g15daemon packages . NOTE: Ubuntu is planing and building the g15 packages. In x.org, for full feature you should set
"XkbModel" to "logitech_g15".
KDE, for full features, you should select
"Logitech G15 extra keys via G15daemon" from
the "Keyboard model".
In gnome there is a similar menu.

- autobuilder doesn't seems to like interdependencies
- g15daemon-xmms was rejected because Debian will remove xmms soon
- the project has two homes in sf.net: g15tools.sf.net and g15daemon.sf.net
